On Friday evening the FireText team took a trip out of the office to attend Truro College for the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards evening. The night was spent enjoying great food, made by the catering apprentices themselves and we were pleased to be a part of it!
The celebrations continued throughout the night, with Tim our software engineer, not only winning his category in Digital and IT Apprentice of the Year but he went on to be nominated for Apprentice of the Year and won it overall! The whole team were immensely proud.
Despite joining us in August 2018, with little prior experience in Computing and IT, Tim has added a significant contribution to the company. He has gone on to build integrations with other systems, develop the FireText user interface and fix day to day bugs. He has thrived in his position and as a business, we are pleased he has been recognised for his success!
Tim was over the moon with the results, he comments “I’ve been at FireText for about 15 months now and it’s great. The team in my office have been amazing. I’ve received a lot of support from my Employer as well as the College; my tutor has always been there when I’ve asked for help with things, he’s brilliant”
Dan Parker, co-founder said “Tim is an exceptional addition to the FireText team. Tim has already developed skills beyond that of similar graduates (with degree qualifications and years of experience) and has contributed to not only day-to-day bug fixes but has also developed ideas and turned these into features we have launched to our entire customer base, comments Dan Parker, Managing Director at FireText. “What Tim has achieved from a skill set perspective is mind-blowing.”
The FireText team left the event buzzing and were really proud of their achievements:-)
