Here at FireText, we’re working towards a slightly different goal in 2018 – and believe it or not, it’s not SMS related!
We’ve dug out our trainers and are chalking up the miles, ready to run the Falmouth Half Marathon on March 18th; which not only get’s us all out of the office at the end of the day and using our legs, it’s also a chance to raise some money for a really worthy cause down here in sunny Cornwall.
Cornwall Hospice Care are a Cornish charity, working in Cornwall and for Cornwall, offering specialist care for people with terminal illnesses.
They support patients and their loved ones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at their two hospices, Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell and St Julia’s in Hayle and in Cornwall’s hospitals, care homes and in the community. The majority of this service is funded by generous donations from people like you and by donating to FireText’s team page and showing your support you are helping them to make a difference to those who need it most.
To encourage each other to get outside and start training, we thought a little healthy competition wouldn’t hurt so we’re keeping track on who’s been for a run and their longest mileage for the week. So far it’s working!
We’ll keep you updated on our progress, and although it’s the taking part that really counts, we’ll let you know who ‘wins’ too 😉
If you want to show your support to the FireText runners, as well as the amazing team at Cornwall Hospice Care, you can donate here. Thanks so much.
